Research description: Identification and extraction of secondary metabolites from mushroom (P. ostreatus).

Edible mushrooms contain a variety of metabolites that significantly enhance health benefits. Mushroom bioactive compounds have pharmacological, nutritional and therapeutic benefits. Among the metabolites that are important in signaling pathways and helpful in the battle against bacterial, viral, and Fungal diseases are proteins, polysaccharides, terpenes, and lipids. The goal is to figure out how to recognize the secondary metabolites that can be found in edible mushrooms.
